The position will work primarily on projects associated with developing marine renewable energy projects for coastal communities and other small-scale markets, such as aquaculture, mariculture and ocean observing. The successful candidate will assist with synthesizing and interpreting scientific information on interdisciplinary projects, and may work across projects in ocean technology, community engagement, and coastal ecosystems. A strong background in engineering, marine science, or related fields is needed to advance ocean energy development in this emerging field.
Candidates must have received a Master’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required.
Recent master’s degree in engineering or marine science
Familiarity with ocean technology, such as marine renewable energy or ocean observing technology
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as with a team of scientists, engineers, and policy analysts
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting, with experience working across marine science, mechanical engineering, and community engagement
