Job Description

The Research Computing Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a senior web developer with Drupal expertise to join an award-winning team located in Richland and Seattle, Washington. Our team solves problems for a variety of US Government organizations such as the Department of Energy, US Armed Forces, and the Department of Homeland Security. As a senior web developer, you would be shaping requirements with clients, mentoring team members, and leading and participating in sprints to develop unique software solutions. Research Computing supports scientific inquiry and advances scientific discovery by providing scientists and engineers across PNNL with the resources required to accelerate their research. This includes large-scale compute and storage resources such as high-performance computing capabilities and machine learning platforms, public and private cloud architectures, on-ramps to leadership class computing architectures, and a suite of software and collaboration platforms. We provide services, expertise and support to enable effective use of our computational resources.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of web development experience

• 3+ years of Drupal development experience

• Demonstrated ability to innovatively solve technical challenges using Drupal 7 and Drupal 8

• Experience using Git to manage/share code with a team of developers

• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills (English)

• Must have experience using basic web languages with as HTML, CSS, XML, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 5 years' experience or MS degree and 3 years' experience (preferred); or 13 years' experience. The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is an advantage but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience as a Content Management Systems (CMS) developer

• Drupal 8 experience

• Providing solutions with common Drupal modules such as Views, Search API, Services, Feeds, and Features

• Experience leveraging the Atlassian suite of tools and SharePoint

• Experience building responsive Drupal templates

• Thorough understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts

• Experience with Symfony
