The Optimization and Control Group (OCG) at Pacific Northwest National Lab seeks an intern to conduct research focusing on distributed algorithm for power system market clearing. In this position, the candidate is expected to
develop and implement peer-to-peer distributed algorithms under guidance from a mentor,
collaborate with other team members to conduct HELICS-based co-simulations,
collect and organize data for analysis, and
help prepare presentations and reports with the obtained results.
Candidates must be degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university. Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.
The candidate of this position should:
be proficient in Python programming,
have a basic understanding of distributed algorithms, and
be able to communicate clearly and succinctly on technical topics.
Candidates with the following qualification is preferred:
experience in HELICS-based co-simulations
experience in software containerization with Docker
familiarity with power system markets.
Currently enrolled in a program in computer science or similar major.
