Job Description

PNNL is seeking to find a talented developer who is passionate about scientific data management systems in one or more of the following areas:

Scientific Data Management Systems Development– bringing a systems perspective to delivering full scientific data life-cycle management built using a variety of programming languages, technologies, and frameworks.

Scientific Data Management Systems Integrations – bringing an API first design perspective to building bridges to various sets of systems that provide strong but resilent integrations.

These developers will work in teams to design, and implement data management workflow systems in support of research. Candidates will work with various computer technologies, on various platforms. They should understand a mix of technologies and have broad knowledge basic science. Should possess advanced computer knowledge to design and customize programs.

TASKS YOU MIGHT WORK ON:

Engage with our research community to facilitate the management of their scientific data workflows.

Design, develop, and document new and existing data management systems.

Research new technologies in support of our research community.

Leverage cloud technologies for delivery where appropriate

In Research Computing, the Data team works with our Researchers to develop data management workflows that help them collaborate on their research, manage data, share their data/workflows, and much more.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience Master’s degree with 0 years of experience PhD with 0 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science

  • Degree in a Basic Scientific Domain

  • Experience leading projects

  • Experience with the Atlassian products

  • Familiarity with a wide range of data science technologies
