Provides technical and administrative direction, processing activities, and support to the Laboratory in a variety of topics including Program Wide Support, Requirements Management and Personnel Security in accordance with DOE, other client and PNNL policies and procedures.
Is accountable to the SASD Personnel Security manager and implements Personnel Security programs to include:
DOE, DoD and other Government Agency Security Clearance program
DOE, DoD, and other Government Agency access authorization program
DOE, DOD, and other Governmetn Agency Visitor Control
Performs a wide variety of activities including DOE and DoD clearance processing activities; receiving, preparing and coordinating clearance related activities, updating Personnel Security procedural guides as they pertain to assigned functions; performing general clerical, administrative and office duties such as report compilation, record keeping and commitment control.
Establishes and maintains relationships as well as routinely communicating with PNNL management & staff, DOE, Field Intelligence Element (FIE), DOD and other Contractors to foster integration, best practices and meet Division goals.
- A high school diploma and 4+ years of relevant work experience, Technical Institute Graduate or relevant Associate’s degree and 2+ years relevant work experience. Equivalent and/or demonstrated performance in a directly related field/capacity may be considered.
Experience working in a DOE or DOD security environment.
Works within established priorities, procedures, processes and requirements requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
Assists others in supporting moderately complex technical activities in accordance with established procedures and assists in implementing programs to ensure Laboratory compliance.
Exercises and demonstrates good judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
Drug Testing: All Security Clearance (L or Q) positions will be considered by the Department of Energy to be Testing Designated Positions which means that they are subject to applicant, random, and for cause drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
Note: Applicants will be considered ineligible for security clearance processing by the U.S. Department of Energy until non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for 12 consecutive months can be demonstrated.
