Job Description

The Risk & Environmental Assessment (REA) group within the Earth Systems Science Division (ESSD) is seeking an Analyst to provide leadership and creative solutions in support of consent-based siting. Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), a Department of Energy Laboratory, employs more than 5,000 scientists, engineers, and specialists engaged in research addressing critical fundamental sciences, environmental, energy, and national security challenges.

  • Understanding national, regional and local stakeholder concerns to develop creative solutions for engagement

  • Supporting the program leadership team, scientist and engineers in developing and leading effective stakeholder engagement approaches providing precedent for future decisions

  • Maintaining awareness of national, regional and local sentiment to identify critical, high-risk issues, inform the project team of emerging issues jeopardizing programmatic success, and develop practices to mitigate

  • Simultaneously lead engagements across multiple sections of the nation spanning local, regional and national levels

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of relevant experience. Advanced degree and 12+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic experience in development and implementation of practices in stakeholder engagement.

  • Demonstrated leadership in change management and implementation with diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-impact products that resonate with diverse groups of politically-charged stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to create and execute national level strategy, identify and interact with key stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory requirements and challenges with a focus on ensuring compliance.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral skills; the ability to effectively lead interdisciplinary teams, and a strong orientation toward building and advancing technical capabilities and staff.
