The Detection Physics (DP) group is seeking an outstanding individual to serve as a Project Coordinator (PC) to support the DNN R&D (NA22) Program office and the Nuclear Explosion Monitoring Program (NEMP) office. The incumbent will play an integral role in PNNL’s ongoing success by delivering high quality support throughout the project life cycle.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience working with PNNL financial systems; including adhoc business intelligences (BI) dashboards, SharePoint, access queries and database development. The PC will partner with the support staff within the DNN R&D (NA22) office and the NEMP office to assist in the daily coordination of projects. The primary duties include preparing and maintaining project plans, budgets, task management, and staffing requirements. A PC also tracks progress and identifies/resolves obstacles, prepares purchase requisitions (PRs) and tracks procurements and service contracts throughout lifecycle. A project PC will be responsible for using a wide range of PNNL business systems to effectively perform these duties. A PC may also perform some administrative tasks such as arranging project meetings, developing agendas and preparing progress reports.
Successful PC candidate will provide support to and will be mentored by senior PCs from within the groups and the individual will work at their direction to help in supporting all stages of the project life cycle.
This PC will work as part of a larger team of PCs housed within DP and will work to become well versed in breadth and depth of the duties a project PC performs.
Coordinate with managers and support staff across the DP group and other technical groups will be essential.
- High school diploma and 8+ years of relevant experience, or an associate degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or a bachelor’s degree.
Candidate must have some familiarity with standard project management and budgeting practices, policies, and tools; and the use of project management techniques to manage/control tasks and resources.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated teaming abilities
Proficient with MS Office software suite
Experience working in sensitive or secure environments is preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively on diverse, interdisciplinary teams.
Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-modal environment.

Program Documentation (EPR)
Procurement Systems (Purchases, Subcontracts, Workshop Agreements, B2B, PCARD, and Accruals)

Oracle Business Intelligence (PPM)
Project Reporting System (PMR)
