This position includes coordinating day to day activities as directed by the Manager, Project Management or Construction Management to help support project management and construction activities. This position works as the interface between Project Management, Building Management, Contracts Office and outside contractors to coordinate necessary permits, documents, authorizations and building access.
Assists Project Managers in daily coordination of project(s) including preparing and maintaining project plans, budgets, and staffing requirements. Responsible to track project status from planning, implementation, monitoring, and closeout to identify/resolves obstacles.
Develops solutions to a wide range of challenges which may require creativity. Identifies improvement/efficiency opportunities. Demonstrates sound judgement in executing and customizing the selected methods and techniques for obtaining solutions with minimal oversight.
Communicates effectively with the project team and support staff. Independently completes assigned tasks on time with minimal oversight and contributes effectively as a project team member. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel. Promptly communicates issues or challenges to the attention of the Project Manager, Project Management Office Director, or Line Manager and may be asked to communicate to internal and external clients. May give task direction to other nonexempt project staff.
Identifies potential issues impacting project execution and promotes effective internal working relationships with team members and peers.Has minimal decision-making authority but should exhibit effective problem solving skills to proactively suggest solutions to the project management team as issues arise.
Supports business office in setting up financial structures, work breakdown structures, and maintains financial integrity. Prepares purchase requisitions (PRs) and tracks procurements and service contracts throughout lifecycle. May perform some administrative tasks such as arranging meetings, developing agendas and preparing progress reports. Has knowledge of a wide-range of PNNL business systems.
Discipline, principal job duties/expectations, and qualitative and quantitative measures of performance that exceed the Functional Descriptor:
Support and assist project team during project lifecycle from conceptual through design development, contract execution and project closeout to include reporting, transitioning records from working files to permanent storage and change control as required by project type.
Effectively communicates and submits badging, creating HID’s when needed, reviews and assigns project specific training, coordinates IOPS access, and facility access requests (prox, etc.).
Issues and manage contractor dosimetry in accordance with program requirements.
Ability to balance long-term goals with short-term priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree and up to 2+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree.
Familiarity with Primavera Unifier, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, Vault, PROCORE and Revit software.
Knowledge and initiative to resolve problems, suggest process improvements or provide suggestions as how to resolve and/or prevent similar problems in the future.
Full working knowledge of PNNL HDI, Operational Systems Directorate technical and operating groups as well as other Laboratory Support organizations.
Knowledge of project management, construction and PNNL operations.
