Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s Environmental Assessment group is seeking a post-masters research associate supporting a variety of projects through collaboration with multidisciplinary environmental science and engineering teams. The successful candidate will have a combination of coursework, experience, and knowledge in applied environmental science and engineering with clearly demonstrated capabilities in designing and executing scope related to resource characterization and analysis; environmental engineering; contaminant fate and transport; and translation of laboratory and/or modeled simulations to fielded applications. A working familiarity with instrumentation/controls, light fabrication, and laboratory and field ready scientific equipment is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a diverse set of research staff and project tasks, and possess the appropriate analytic, task management, and effective communication skills (both oral and written) to clearly define and articulate both objectives and outcomes of their research.
Candidates must have received a Master’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required.
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
Master’s degree in an engineering discipline or physical sciences (e.g., geosciences)
Ability to contribute to the production of technical proposals, project reports, scientific and technical products, and journal papers.
Ability to develop and maintain internal and external scientific networks.
Ability to establish and maintain high technical quality in laboratory and field research and work products.
Ability to contribute to the development and growth of capabilities for project and technical teams.
Ability to collaborate effectively on diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
Overall GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Coursework or experience with hydrogeology, aquifer hydraulics (e.g., transmissivity, conductivity, etc.), and/or groundwater modeling.
