Job Description
The candidate for this position will actively participate in interdisciplinary projects to develop and deploy technologies to study and mitigate the environmental impact of renewable energy systems such as conventional hydropower, wind, marine and hydrokinetic energy. The primary scope of this position includes large-scale data and image processing and analysis, advanced algorithm development, and assisting with journal article and report writing. The candidate will work closely with other engineers to develop autonomous sensors/platforms and self-powered sensor systems.
Candidates must have received a Master degree in an engineering, computer science, or a related field.
The candidate must have following qualifications or skills:
Proficient programming skills in at least one programming language (MATLAB, Python, R, or C++);
Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., MATLAB; Tecplot; Photoshop; AutoCAD);
Experience with digital signal processing and image processing;
Familiar with existing deep learning and machine learning libraries;
Work well in a team setting; will exhibit a strong work ethic; will be self-motivated; and will place a high value on data quality and accuracy;
Strong hands-on skills and experience with High Performance Computing on Linux system will be a plus;
Experience with large datasets, knowledge of underwater acoustic or hydroacoustics, and good publication record will be a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have received a Master’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required.
Preferred Qualifications
MS in an engineering, computer science or related field
