Job Description

We are searching for outstanding candidate for a postdoctoral position working on projects associated with technology development and biological applications of high throughput single cell proteomics. Our projects are focused on continued development of the cutting edge nanoPOTS (microfluidic nanodroplet processing in one-pot for trace samples) single cell proteomics technology and its application to understanding complex biological systems, including the biology of plant-microbiome interactions and human lung development.

The candidate will be responsible for improving the sample preparation protocols, liquid chromatography separations, mass spectrometry acquisition, and data analysis. The candidate will work tightly with chemists, engineers, technicians, biologists, and clinicians with diverse background to address the grand challenge of single cell proteomics. The candidate will play key role in improving the nanoPOTS platform for large-scale and quantitative single cell analysis.

The candidate should have a record of accomplishment in the development and applications of proteomics, microfluidics, and/or mass spectrometry. An ideal candidate will have expertise in sample preparation and data analysis for quantitative proteomics. Experience in high throughput single cell analysis is a plus. The candidate should possess good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, think critically, operate productively in a fast-paced environment are required.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates must have received a PhD in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, molecular biology or related discipline. Must have direct experience and expertise in at least one field related to mass spectrometry, proteomics, or single cell analysis.
