This position on quantitative proteomics focuses on the development and application of a multiplexed tandem mass tag (TMT) labeling-based approach for high-throughput proteome/phosphoproteome profiling. The preferred candidate would have a Ph.D. degree in either analytical chemistry or biochemistry. It is a plus for candidates to have hands-on experience in LC-MS analysis, proteomics/phosphoproteomics, TMT labeling, phosphopeptide enrichment, database searching, and data analysis, but they are not essential. Efforts will include method development, sample preparation, and separation methods for enhancing detection sensitivity, sample throughput, and reproducibility in quantitative proteomics/phosphoproteomics analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will assist, and possibly lead, in the preparation and presentation of papers, posters, reports, etc. Additionally, he/she will use project management systems at PNNL, maintain an accurate laboratory notebook, adhere to Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Operations, and follow security requirements as well as directorate/group policies. This is a full-time, limited term employment position. The duration of this appointment is two years, with the option of extending the appointment for up to three years
Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
Strong organization and communication skills are needed to work efficiently in a team environment and to effectively demonstrate project success.
Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a closely related field is required.
