Job Description

The proteomics group at the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking highly motivated candidates for a postdoctoral position. We are interested in developing top down and native mass spectrometry methods to better analyze intact proteins and noncovalent protein complexes. We aim to apply the novel technologies for high-throughput structural characterization of proteins with unknown functions, particularly in plant and microbial systems. The successful candidate will have access to the advanced, unique mass spectrometry instrumentation at EMSL and work in interdisciplinary teams to solve challenging problems in environmental and bioenergy applications.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

Must have basic knowledge or working experience of analytical instrumentation including mass spectrometry and chromatography. Experience with top down mass spectrometry and/or native mass spectrometry is preferable but not required. Previous experience in glycoproteins, plant biology, or microbiology will be considered as a plus.

Degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics or relative field.
