Job Description

The Chemical Biology and Exposure Science Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow in metabolism, chemical biology, or toxicology. The candidate will provide experimental support for a program developing novel methods of measuring and predicting chemical metabolism in humans. The ideal candidate will have a robust experimental background in pharmacokinetics, metabolism, analytical chemistry (e.g. HPLC, GC-MS), biology, cell culture and/or chemical biology. The candidate will work closely with the project manager and will function as a key conduit between the collaborating investigators on this project. This full-time, limited term employment position will last two years and include the option of extending the appointment, depending on project funding and individual performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in the fields of toxicology, pharmacology, chemistry, biology, or biological modeling.

  • Technical Expertise: experience with in vitro metabolism assays or analytical chemistry techniques (HPLC, GC-MS) and robust oral and writing communication skills.

  • Level of Responsibility: able to work independently to achieve tasks in collaboration with PI and co-investigators

  • Breadth of Technical Knowledge: maintains skills consistent with state of the art.

Preferred Education/Credential:

  • Experience with pharmacokinetic modeling.

  • Experience with activity based protein profiling or other chemical biology approaches.
