The High-Performance Computing (HPC) Group at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks a post-doctoral researcher with a strong background in quantum algorithms, quantum software development, quantum characterization verification and validation (QCVV) or near-term applications of quantum computing. The candidate will be expected to perform world-leading research focusing as part of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory within the Codesign Center for Quantum Advantage. The candidate will be expected to collaborate closely with laboratory personnel in computing and application domains, as well as researchers at collaborating national laboratories, universities, and industry on center activities focused on the development, application, benchmarking, compilation, and optimization of quantum algorithms and software.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities include:
Conduct technical research in areas of interest to impacted projects
Publish results in high visible, peer-reviewed venues (e.g., conferences and journals)
Interact with internal and external research staff and domain scientists for collaboration purposes
Participate in and potentially lead technical presentations on the work
Participate in team meetings and potentially interact with funding sponsors
Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related field and must have a proven research track record including publications.
Will complete a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field before beginning the post-doc position.
