The candidate for this position will actively participate in interdisciplinary projects to study the environmental impact of renewable energy systems such as conventional hydropower, marine and hydrokinetic energy, and wind power. Job responsibility include autonomous sensor design, autonomous sensor plan platform design, experimental design, digital signal acquisition in laboratory and field settings, data processing and analysis, and leading journal article and report writing.
Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
Candidates must have received a PhD in mechanical engineering, civil or environmental engineering, physical oceanography, or a related field.
The candidate must have demonstrated experience with digital signal acquisition and processing, surface water instrumentation and data acquisition, or acoustic instrument and measurements. The candidate must have experience with analysis and visualization tools (e.g., MATLAB; Tecplot; Excel). In addition, the successful candidate will be able to work well in a team setting; will exhibit a strong work ethic; will be self-motivated; and will place a high value on data quality and accuracy. Hands-on experience of underwater autonomous vehicles, multi-robot network, or underwater acoustic is preferred. Good publication record is preferred.
3.5 GPA or higher is preferred
