Job Description
Implementing crystal plasticity twinning constitutive model in open source FEM solver Warp3D for HCP materials such as Zircaloy, Magnesium, and Nickel. Warp3d currently does have crystal plasticity material model for HCP materials but it is only limited to deformation due to slip. Aim is to extend that model to include the deformation from the twinning as well and solve some benchmark example to check the correctness of the model.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be currently enrolled/matriculated in a PhD program at an accredited college. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of finite element methods
Knowledge of crystal plasticity theory
Experience of programming
Preferred Education/Credential:
Degree in mechanical engineering, material science, or related field.
