PNNL is seeking to find talented software engineers who are passionate about development in one or more of the following areas:
Front-end developer – developing novel web-based user interfaces using modern tools and frameworks such as React & Redux.
Full Stack/Back-end developer – bringing a systems perspective to delivering full-stack software-centric applications built on Drupal. Designing and implementing new features and functionality, establishing and guiding the website’s architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
TASKS YOU MIGHT WORK ON:
Design, develop, document, test and debug new and existing software systems, web interfaces, and/or applications in Drupal.
Work in tandem with our talented User Experience team to develop novel web-based User Interfaces using modern frameworks
Implement back-end services or Drupal modules in PHP connecting to various data sources in support of User Interfaces or larger software systems
Leverage cloud technologies for software delivery
Participate in estimating and scope planning for new projects.

In Research Computing, the Software Platforms team works with our Researchers to develop CMS-based web applications that help them collaborate on their research, manage projects, share their findings, and much more.
Dupal Developer level 1 :
Applies basic S&E theories to well defined tasks with minimal oversight. Requires conceptual knowledge of scientific or engineering theories, practices and procedures within specialization.Working locally as an individual contributor. Building and maintaining effective internal relationships on individual or team level
Drupal Developer level 2:
Receives guidance on new assignments, making preliminary selections on technical alternatives; independently completes recurring assignments. Defines and leads project work at a small task/project level, reporting results on time and on budget. Building networks at a local and capability level. Effectively teaming to share resources and optimize research and development at the group and division level.
- BS/BA in computer science or similar degree. A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the required degree.
BS/BA with 2+ years of experience, MS/MA with 0-2 years of experience, or PhD with 0 years of experience. A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the required degree.
1+ years of Drupal development experience.
Demonstrated ability to innovatively solve technical challenges using Drupal 8.
Experience using Git to manage a common codebase and workflow with a development team.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
Familiar with agile team development methodologies.
