Job Description
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking ambitious, high-caliber sophomore, junior or senior high school students for intern assignments within the High School Young Women in Science (YWiS) Program. This summer internship is a research-based educational experience for sophomores, juniors and senior females. The students must have an expressed interest in and potential for educational opportunities and careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM).
This project is developing an approach of applying machine learning (ML) in addressing practical science, engineering or industrial problems, and will
use solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system modeling and optimization as a demonstration. It also is utilizing the existing huge amount of SOFC
stack simulation results to train the neural network and impose well-known physics-based constraints into the training process.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be a female currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior or senior in a public or private high school.
Applicants must be 16 years of age by June 2019.
Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (from beginning of 9th grade to current standing).
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant Course Work Desired - High school math
Computer Skills Desired - Microsoft Office Fundamental knowledge in computer code/programing
Other Desired Skills - Linux Python
