Job Description

  • This position independently coordinates all clerical support activities related to accounts receivable, which includes: invoicing, reviewing and validating contracts, maintaining contract files, collections, providing backup required by each client, and coordination with Contracts, Business Office, and Field, in order to provide the highest level of customer service to the clients.

  • Other responsibilities include independent invoicing, final invoicing and closeouts, refunds, write-offs, account reconciliations, and clearing suspense accounts.

  • Year-end responsibilities include preparing reports and analysis in support of the annual audit.

  • Incumbent must possess the ability to recognize and adhere to diverse contractual invoicing requirements, meet critical deadlines and work to resolve billed and unbilled issues in a timely manner. Incumbent must be able to work with minimal supervision, while teaming and/or collaborating with other AR and laboratory staff members.

  • This position reports directly to the Manager, Accounts Receivable

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma and 6+ years of relevant work experience or relevant Associate's degree and 4+ years of relevant work experience.

  • Assignments may be broad or narrowly focused requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Assists others in conducting studies and in supporting non-routine activities in accordance with established financial and accounting procedures. May implement organizational programs. Foresees needed reports and provides those reports when needed. Recommends changes to procedures and process improvements.

  • Possesses excellent customer service skills.

  • Skilled, fully proficient Administrator level. Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide-range of tasks. Skilled in the use of basic financial and accounting systems and software.

  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing outside organizations.

  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. May provide training and guidance to less experienced staff.

  • **Must meet minimum requirements to receive further consideration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Battelle's financial systems and processes highly desired.

  • Demonstrates proficient use of standard office equipment; demonstrate proficient use of MS Office Suite (specifically Excel and Access)
