Job Description

  • Maintain a single Challenger 850 (currently being modified for atmospheric research) in accordance with Bombardier Maintenance Manual, LUMP program

  • Oversee a small maintenance team

  • Set up maintenance shop and support equipment required to maintain a single Challenger 850 in a new hangar

  • Oversee/supervise heavy maintenance during shop visits

  • Oversee tool control program & tool calibration program

  • Assist with technical oversight of modifications contractor during aircraft modification period

Discipline, principal job duties/expectations, and qualitative and quantitative measures of performance that exceed the Functional Descriptor:

  • Travel 3-4 months per year (not consecutive) domestic and international. Must hold current passport.

  • Work with science team to plan and calculate weight and balance associated with installing & removing research

  • Work with Group 3 UAS (training provided)

Minimum Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate, with current Inspector Authorization (IA)

  • Bachelor’s degree (science preferred) and 10+ years of relevant experience. Advanced degree and 8+ years of relevant experience, or TIG/AA with 15+ years of relevant experience; ORA minimum of 18 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the required degree.

  • Training on GE CF34 engines

  • Training on Honeywell 36-150 Series APU

  • 5 years all-encompassing experience maintaining Challenger or CRJ aircraft

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years experience as Director of Maintenance

  • Experienced with sheet metal & fabrication

  • Experienced with computerized maintenance programs such as Flightdocs

  • Strong computer skills (outlook, word, excel, powerpoint, etc.)

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

  • Working knowledge of Proline4 Avionics suite

Special/Hazardous Working Conditions or Environment :

  • Aircraft is a highly modified Public Aircraft used for atmospheric research

  • Must schedule routine maintenance around research and flight schedule

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; stand up to 8 hours per day; bend, stretch, crawl, and climb ladders in order to work on areas within the aircraft that are difficult to access.
