This position is responsible for providing electrical engineering expertise including engineering studies, preliminary, conceptual and detailed design, project management, estimating, calculations, troubleshooting, preparation of contract documents including drawings and specifications, construction administration, and field inspections for all Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) facilities. This position applies engineering knowledge and methods for the accomplishment of electrical engineering work assigned to the Engineering Department, which will also include research and development support.
Has an established technical expertise, serves as a resource to Facilities and Operations and the Lab.
Manages technically complex activities and projects.
Routinely functions as a lead project engineer, coordinating and managing the activities of other staff.
Provides direction to junior engineering staff, designers, and drafters.
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or architecture and 10+ years of relevant experience. Advanced degree and 8+ years of relevant experience. PE/RA required.
Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Minimum 10 years of building civil/structural system design experience
Minimum 5 years of commercial engineering experience
Experience with steel, concrete, and wood timber structural system design
Experience in civil underground utilities design
Experience with site grading, site drainage, and site hardscape design
Experience in a multi-discipline engineering setting
LEED Accredited Professional
AutoCAD design and drafting skills, MS Office Software skills, REVIT Skills
