As a Cyber Security System Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring system security needs are established and maintained for operations development, will define security requirements, perform security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, and incident response. In this position, you will interface with external government organizations and agencies.
We are looking for a technical engineer with demonstrated experience designing, architecting, developing and supporting systems on classified networks and systems to join our team. In this position, you will work with a large team using cloud-based technologies to design and run experiments, perform evaluations, conduct studies, and develop training for our various federal sponsors. You will build full enterprise environments within a cyber-research infrastructure; you’ll improve that infrastructure; and you’ll make a difference in the global cyber battlefield.
Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 3-6 years of relevant experience, or JD or PhD with 0-3 years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience with cloud development and deployment with technologies such as AWS and C2S.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or closely related field
Experience with developing data flow/management processes, HMIs, web-applications, and/or software integration.
CISSP, CISSM, Security+ certification(s)
DoD active duty or civilian with computing experience
DOE or DoD clearance

This position requires the ability to obtain a federal security clearance in a timely manner. Which requires:
Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
Drug Testing: All Security Clearance (L or Q) positions will be considered by the Department of Energy to be Testing Designated Positions which means that they are subject to applicant, random, and for cause drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
Note: Applicants will be considered ineligible for security clearance processing by the U.S. Department of Energy until non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for 12 consecutive months can be demonstrated.
