Job Description

  • Assist Construction Managers with planning, directing and coordinating activities pertaining to building and facilities construction projects. Develop and maintain strong relationship with facility operations, building occupants, and other functional support organizations.

  • Supports preparation of cost estimates, functional studies, construction plans and schedules. Develop contract documents, process change orders and supports contract negotiations.

  • Ensures that construction work is properly inspected and that an acceptable level of quality assurance is maintained. Ensures projects are completed according to project plans.

  • Ensures that the project package is in order and that all necessary paperwork, permits, reviews, pre-job briefings and approvals are completed prior to the start of construction. Monitor construction project safety, seeks prompt resolution of unsafe conditions at the construction work site.

  • Reviews design drawings and specifications for constructability, completeness, and accuracy prior to issuing for construction.

  • Provides technical solutions to a variety of problems of limited to moderate scope and complexity.

  • Learns to use professional concepts; limited use and/or application of principles, theories and concepts. Applies existing methods to well defined problems. Has ability to think creatively and is mentally flexible.

  • Manages personal work. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.

  • Conducts work under direction of senior staff. Forms relationship with mentor

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative

  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time

  • Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives

  • Strong organization, time management and attention to detail

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or other related field and 0- 5 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification

  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training

  • Construction scheduling experience/coursework
