We are looking for motivated individuals interested in developing innovative project controls solutions tailored to a diverse set of projects. The staff member will work with project managers and teams to develop, implement, and maintain project controls systems such as planning, scheduling, reporting, and performance measurement. The selected staff member will:
Prepare proposals to deliver breakthrough science and technology to meet key national needs.
Develop detailed project controls plans, statements of work, and other project planning documents.
Construct time-phased budgets, work schedules, work breakdown structures, and control account plans.
Create project workflows (e.g, Gantt charts, PERT, and CPM network diagrams).
Familiarize, learn, and apply knowledge of applicable PNNL policies, procedures, and customer expectations.
Work simultaneously on different projects or with multiple customers.
The staff member in this intern position is in training and will receive assigned work and mentoring from more senior staff.
Candidates must be degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university. Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain a future security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Current enrolled students seeking a degree in a business, engineering or other technical related field. Course experience including analysis of data using Excel, Databases, or Business Intelligence Software.
Exposure to project management concepts, terminology, and methodologies; knowledge of general business administration.
Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
Familiarity with planning and management systems, including planning software (i.e., Primavera, Microsoft Project).
Coursework in management information systems and databases (e.g. SQL, Access, and Visual Basic).
Experience with Microsoft Office software products such as Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, Power BI and PowerPoint.
Degree emphasis in Management Information Systems (MIS), Operations Management, Project Management or Finance degree programs. Junior or Senior level academic standing preferred. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
