This Building Engineer position is responsible for activities in support of the operation and maintenance of a complex of buildings under the guidance of the Facility Engineering and Maintenance Manager.
The Building Engineer is the subject matter expert for their assigned buildings and systems responsible for approving design modifications, operational oversight, lock-out/tag-out, condition assessment surveys, acceptance testing, work planning, outage planning and configuration management.
Responsible for facility preventive maintenance program requirements and implementation.
Work planning which includes hazard identification, mitigation, and approval to perform work.
Determine requirements for facility critical spare parts inventories.
Support development of annual and long-range facility operation and maintenance budgets.
Responsible for efficient operation of facility systems to meet environmental, safety, and occupant mission needs.
Provide day-to-day direction to utility operations staff (power operators).
Respond to facility upset conditions and events that impact their assigned facilities during normal and off normal work hours.
Display good judgment, a positive attitude, and be able to work well within their assigned operational team to meet their building occupant’s needs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience or Advanced degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience.
ABET accreditedBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of experience or an advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 0-2 years of experience.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Washington
Certification as a Reliability Engineer
