Job Description

The Biological Systems Science Group within the Biological Sciences Division at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a scientist who will develop a vigorous independent research program in microbiome sciences (broadly defined) and collaborate on existing projects in the highly collaborative environment of PNNL. This individual will be expected to strengthen our research program and contribute to emerging and established research programs in environmental and host-associated microbiome sciences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA with 2 years of experience, MS/MA with 0 years of experience, PhD with 0 years; with degree in microbiology, microbial ecology, microbial physiology or related field.

  • Strong record of independent creative accomplishments and disseminating research through peer-reviewed publications, invited presentations, etc.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently as well as in interdisciplinary group settings with internal and external collaborators, and interact productively with colleagues within the Group, Division and across PNNL.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in microbiology or related field.

  • Skilled professional who can independently apply, on a broad basis, existing theories, principles, and concepts within the field of microbiome sciences.

  • Ability to conduct state of the art research.
