Seeking a tech savvy administrator to join our team: come improve the security and sustainability of our nation’s energy systems.
The incumbent will accept assignments from the administrators, specialists, and research staff within the technical group and work to complete those tasks with direction, in a team environment, or independently, as the specific task requires. The incumbent is expected to take the initiative in completing routine assignments to ensure smooth operations. Routine decisions may be made independently, while non-routine decisions will be made under the guidance of the management or specialist and done within the framework of established PNNL policies and procedures.
Making travel arrangements, submitting Advance Travel Requests (ATR) and completing expense reports.
Creating and/or updating Information Release forms.
Arranging shipment of documents and equipment.
Providing back-up support to Project Coordinators and Group Administrators as needed.
Assisting with meeting preparation (catering, room set-up, printing materials such as badges, table tents, etc.)
Processing visitors through PNNL’s various internal systems according to applicable policies and procedures.
Procurement of various items using the Purchase Card and via Business-to-Business orders.
Typing, editing, and distributing documents, reports, correspondence, articles, presentation summaries, agendas, and forms.
Creating and maintaining procedural documents.
Setting up user accounts for collaborative software systems
Working with workflow tools to status project work activities
Arranging meetings and creating agendas for project staff.
Maintaining general and project files of all records using the HP Records Management System.
- High School Diploma and 2+ years’ experience in a clerical or administrative environment, or combination of education and experience.
Technology savvy, able to quickly learn new systems accurately and effectively.
Proficient use of standard office equipment and tools such as MS Office 365 Suite, Excel, Word, Teams, Sharepoint.
The ability to prioritize work, coordinate calendars/schedules, and meet commitments and action items.
Understanding office support functions, possessing the ability to effectively apply procedures and working with minimal supervision.
Discretion and good judgement about processing/disclosing sensitive or confidential information.

Background Investigation: Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.
Drug Testing: All Security Clearance (L or Q) positions will be considered by the Department of Energy to be Testing Designated Positions which means that they are subject to applicant, random, and for cause drug testing. In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
Note: Applicants will be considered ineligible for security clearance processing by the U.S. Department of Energy until non-use of illegal drugs, including marijuana, for 12 consecutive months can be demonstrated.
