Job Description

• Development and implementation of methods for measuring and analyzing the performance of connected lighting systems. Identification and characterization of performance issues and potential improvements. Measurements and evaluations made in both the laboratory and in the field.

• Evaluation and verification of the ability of lighting devices and systems to accurately report their energy consumption.

• Evaluation of the energy performance of connected lighting devices and systems, and whether the energy benefits provided by network interfaces outweigh the energy they consume.

• Characterization of lighting device and system interoperability, and verification of industry consortia (e.g. Open Connectivity Foundation) interoperability claims.

• Characterization of key lighting system capabilities and performance claims enabled by interoperability.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have received a Master’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

• Demonstrated understanding and ability to fully apply and interpret basic theories, principles, methods, tools, and technologies within the following areas:

o electrical circuit and system design and operation

o communication network design and operation (hardware and software)

o data science and analytics

o power conversion, management, and measurement

o solid-state lighting, and/or lighting or building system controls.
