Job Description

This postdoctoral position requires a highly motivated, adaptable, and capable individual with a Ph.D. degree preferably in biochemistry, molecular biology, clinical chemistry, or analytical chemistry. The research involves a range of proteomics technologies and methodologies to solve exciting biological and biomedical challenges, particularly method development and applications of both global and targeted quantitative proteomics using advanced LC-MS and bioinformatics capabilities at PNNL. The ideal candidate may have comprehensive experience in both sample preparation and data analysis in quantitative proteome, phosphoproteome and other PTM-ome characterization using LC-MS/MS; expertise in computational biology, or possibly other biology domain specific experience (e.g., cancer) will be a strong plus. Research may include the development/optimization/application of front-end sample preparation, separation strategies and enrichment methods for quantitative analysis of proteins and PTMs, as well as associated data analysis and interpretation, with an emphasis on cancer biology and biomarkers. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent communication skills. The successful candidate is expected to assist and lead the preparation and presentation of manuscripts, posters, reports, etc. Additionally he/she will use project management systems at PNNL, maintain an accurate laboratory notebook and adhere to Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Operations and security requirements and directorate/group policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field is required.
