Job Description

The Integrative Omics research group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has several postdoctoral positions available to support mass spectrometry-based global and targeted proteomics developments focusing on specific pathways and/or posttranslational modifications, and associated biological applications such as synthetic biology related to biofuel manufacturing and human health related research. Preferable candidates will have a Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, organic chemistry, cell biology, microbiology, or closely related fields. \Although not required, hands-on experience in mass spectrometry, proteomics, LC separations, and bioinformatics will be considered as a plus. Research will include mass spectrometry sample preparation and method development for enhancing reproducibility and sensitivity, LC-MS analysis, and data interpretation of global and targeted proteomic measurements in different sample types. The successful candidate will be expected to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams of researchers, be self-motivated, and have excellent communication skills. The successful candidate is expected to assist and lead the preparation and presentation of papers, posters, reports, etc. Additionally they will use project management systems at PNNL, maintain an accurate laboratory notebook and adhere to Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) Operations and security requirements and directorate/group policies.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years (60 months) or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong organization and communication skills are needed to work efficiently in a team environment and to effectively demonstrate project success. Background in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, bioengineering, or closely related fields is required.
