Job Description

The High Performance Computing group seeks a graduate intern for conducting research in application performance modeling. During the internship, the student is expected to design and implement one or more methods that deliver insight into application performance and system design. Topics of interest include design space exploration of computing architectures and memory systems; and modeling the effects of optimizing program tasks and data layouts. We are looking for exceptional candidates with strong backgrounds in performance analysis, architecture, and parallelism. Familiarity with application modeling (either “white” or “black” box) is a plus, but not required. Candidates with related experience are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be currently enrolled/matriculated in a PhD program at an accredited college. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

Preferred Qualifications

The student is expected to have completed courses in parallel computing, systems, and basic computer architecture. Preference will be given to students with experience in computer architecture and analyzing binary codes. The ideal candidate additionally has experience in C/C++ and MPI/OpenMP

The student should be pursuing a PhD in computer science or related field.
