Job Description

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is seeking a Senior Scientist (Level IV/V) with scientific expertise in cancer biology, with strong interest and/or experience in the collaborative application of integrated genomic, epigenomic, and proteomic approaches to enable a predictive understanding of cancer etiology, progression, and treatment in support of precision medicine objectives. Topics of research focus should include, but are not necessarily limited to, broad NIH priorities in basic and translational cancer research as exemplified by major initiatives such as the Cancer Moonshot, the cancer microbiome, and precision oncology. The candidate’s research strategies should emphasize an integrated systems approach focused on understanding and using integrated multiple data types (genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, environmental exposures, and microbiomics) to collaboratively build predictive models of cancer progression or response to therapy.

This position features opportunities for collaborative research with PNNL scientists whose expertise spans a broad range of environmental, material, and computational sciences. The successful candidate will have access to extensive research capabilities including systems biology analytics (e.g., proteomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics), molecular biology and protein purification/characterization, advanced imaging, bioinformatics, and computational modeling. The successful candidate is expected to further develop scientific leadership skills within the Biological Sciences Division at PNNL. This position is located in Richland, WA.
