Job Description

PNNL Human Resources seeks a talented intern who will directly support the New Hire Services office. Strong computer skills along with a familiarity with Microsoft Office are desired. This role requires a high level of responsibility, responsiveness and confidentiality. The incumbent will serve as alternate contact for HR regarding official personnel files, terminated staff field files, and records in storage. This includes regularly coordinating personnel file reviews for internal and external investigators and maintaining personnel files and related paperwork.

This position will also support pre-employment and onboarding processes including background checks, onboarding calendar administration, and E-Verify.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must be degree-seeking students enrolled at an accredited college or university. Candidates must be taking at least 6 credit hours and have an overall GPA of 2.5.

- Must possess the ability to effectively apply procedures, prioritize and work independently using discretion, sound judgment and decision-making.

- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Must be able to positively interact with all levels in the organization.

- Accuracy and attention to detail is critical.

- Requires integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
